Dr. Harvey Manes has been a passionate collector of art for the over 40 years and presently serves on the Board of the Nassau County Museum of Art (NCMA). He has lent numerous works from his collection to notable museums, including the Museum of Contemporary Art (Chicago), Heckscher Museum, NCMA, Jewish Museum-NYC, and others. He is the founder of the Manes Peace Prize Foundation that has donated more than a million dollars to numerous charities, individuals, and organizations that promote peace through art and education. He is also the author of the books “The Nobel Peace Prize and How it has Failed Us” and “Collecting Art: For Pleasure and Profit.” He has four grown children and lives in N.Y.C. and Westhampton Beach, N.Y.
